Mother Mary
It’s coming along. I’ve yet to scrape and burnish. The running soldier is beginning to do what I want him to do. Now I have to figure out how to make the figure of Jesus into the visual destination of that running figure.
I gave the plate a very slight, 5 minute etch today. In the heat of a spring afternoon, that is more than a longer etch in the winter time, when it might only be in the 70s here in Florida. I have to take into account that increased action of the etching bath in higher temperatures.
I have the two other plates proofed too, but I’m too tired to scan them. Tomorrow is another day.
Soon the school year is over and I have loads of time to develop the next group of prints: a Crucifixion @ 12x18in; a Resurrection @ 12x18in.; an Assumption @ 9x12in.; and an Agony in the Garden @ 9x12in., to finish up the Sorrowful Mysteries. I also have some small Lamb of God etchings I want to do. And I’m working on three books in graphic novel form, which I’ll be doing studies for the first story in the book Driving Down Pass Road. I write stories too. Gonna be a busy summer. No traveling like last summer planned.
