My vows to the Lord
This densely pigmented Charbonnel is murder to wipe. The proof on the left, #7, is paper-wiped. The one on the right, #8, is hand-wiped after I added a few drops of Aqua Wash Oil to the ink. Not much difference, except some parts print a little crisper in #8.
I used a burin in the hair and the nose to bring out details, but I wanted slightly smaller marks, so I went out and bought a thinner burin, along with some Charbonnel Aqua Wash Oil and some thickening medium for Akua ink. Akua is a little runny and makes it very easy to overwipe, so maybe this willl help, or I abandon it altogether and just use Charbonnel (more likely the latter).
Now it is just a matter of using that little burin and really doing a number on burnishing and polishing the plate.
